Eosin Y is an acidic dye that dyes the cytoplasm pink (Eosin) and is one of the most common staining reagents for tissue and cytochemistry, often used in combination with hematoxylin (an alkaline dye that dyes the nucleus purplish blue (basophilic)) (HE staining).
